About the Montecito Trails Foundation

Since 1964 the Montecito Trails Foundation (MTF) has worked to preserve, maintain, expand, and record trails within areas of Montecito, Summerland, & Carpinteria, California while being an advocate for trails and open spaces countywide.

What We Do:
-- MTF plays a key role in the acquisition and acceptance of trails by the County of Santa Barbara
-- MTF is actively involved with local government trail issues
-- MTF works with landowners to obtain trail easements
-- Clearing, brushing and building trails since 1964

MTF is a private, non-profit organization
whose volunteers raise funds to keep more than 300 miles of trail open to the public.

Its membership includes over 1200 hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers.

Members receive an outstanding detailed trails map for Santa Barbara County that is not available anywhere else at this time. Members also receive newsletters with updates on the trails. Members are invited to our annual BBQ, which we hold in September. Members are invited to our annual meeting in January.
